Very much in the spirit of the 2009 beatles remasters campaign emi has extended the same loving care to their second most important british act pink floyd with a full on remastering and repackaging campaign called why pink floyd featuring their entire studio output 14 albums in all unlike the beatles various titles in the floyd canon have been revisited before. The full record was remastered from the original analogue tapes by james guthrie joel plante and bernie grundman. This has been my favorite pink floyd album for years. The most recent vinyl re issue of the dark side of the moon is the 2016 remastered edition on heavyweight 180gr vinyl.

The vinyl is a tape of two halves. The wall was exceptional as well. Us genre. The second lp in contrast is perfect and sounds absolutely fabulous.

A credit to remastering. The vinyl reissues are created from the digital file of the new remaster. Leaving that aside the remaster for this vinyl pressing is fantastic. The highs and the lows are loud and clear and you get every bit of the analog warmth you re looking for.

Alongside the classic live album and full concert film restored and re edited from the original 35mm film negatives and remixed in stereo and 5 1 surround sound as included in the later years box set all stand alone editions feature 24 page photo booklets with the 4 disc box edition including a 40 page photo booklet tour poster. 5 0 out of 5 stars 2016 reissue remaster pink floyd the wall vinyl reviewed in the united states on august 28 2017. Delicate sound of thunder encapsulates a band at their best.

This remaster sounds wonderful. Sde has made enquiries about the forthcoming pink floyd vinyl reissues with regards to the mastering and whether the vinyl is cut directly from analogue or via digital files we can confirm that these vinyl reissues do use brand new remasters from the original analogue tapes but they are not cut directly from analogue. 2x vinyl lp album reissue remastered 180 gram gatefold country.
